Where is this place really situated?

Located on the south-eastern tip of Canada, Nova Scotia is one of the 4 Maritime Provinces.

At the northeast of Nova Scotia lies  “Cape Breton Island”.

Since 1955 it has been connected with the mainland by a raised roadway and bridge, the "Canso Causeway".

It is here that “Bras d’Or Lake” - the largest saltwater lake on earth - is situated.

The lake,  more than 1.000 km² in area,  boasts some of the world's most famous sailing locales.

Cape Breton Island is surrounded by water from all sides: the Atlantic resp. the Gulf of St. Lawrence are never more than just a couple of Miles away, this means that you’ll find a pure maritime climate where you’ll always have a refreshing sea breeze.

The high temperatures are above 33° in august, the temperatures at night are usually a great deal lower – a great thing for sleeping.

Last year we measured up to 26° in the water of our bay, in the open lake it was about 22° or less. Please include a sudden change in weather in your plans for trips!

On the opposite shore (approx. 8 km as the crow flies, 20 minutes by car) the small village of Whycocomagh is located. You will be able to find restaurants, shops for the most necessary products and the little country market “The Farmers Daughter” there.

You’ll be amazed if you find out how large a small ice cream for C$ 1 is.

Did you know that...

Nova Scotia is one of the smallest provinces with its 50,000 km² and its 900,000 inhabitants?

Canada's geographical area is about 20 million km² but contains only about 30 million inhabitants?

A comparison:  Germany is ~ 0.35 million km² and approximately 82 million  inhabitants, US is 9,6 million km² with an population of more than 280 million.

How to Get Here:  Follow the Trans Canada Highway 105 from Port Hawkesbury ore from Baddeck and leave at Exit No. 4 near little place "Whycocomagh" (the name comes from the native language).

You'll see our signs with the telltale fish: B&B   Moeller's Lake View (if not dismantled again, sorry)

Directly on the south side of the Whycocomagh Bay our marvellous place lies protected through a small island named “Mac Innes Island”.

Please don't worry about how to find us: we'll send you detailed instructions including a local map after you have booked with us on request.

Please watch for this signs!
